AEVENIA Health and Safety Policy
Our family of parent and subsidiary companies are committed above all to the safety, health, and well being of our employees and their families. Aevenia’s wide focus on safety education, training and injury prevention is the single most important core value of our company. This corporate core value not only benefits our employees and their families, but our clients and customers as well. We continue to raise our standards for safety performance in every area of our operations, in every one of our companies. Our on-going efforts have resulted in an excellent EMR factor. As direct beneficiaries of our strong safety program, our customers can expect the very best from our workforce.
As a reflection of Aevenia’s culture of safety, our safety mission is:
* to develop an uncompromisingly safe and healthy work environment for all employees
* to commit to a standard that all accidents can be prevented
It is our sincere objective to eliminate all occupational accidents and incidents in our workplace and on our projects. To compromise this absolute objective with a tolerance of any degree is socially unacceptable. This formal plan becomes the guideline in our culture and the standard by which each of us should be judged. We expect all persons involved with Aevenia to adopt this standard as their own.
Management’s Commitment:
We are responsible for providing our employees a safe and healthy workplace.
We are responsible for supporting to the fullest extent the Aevenia Health and Safety Policy.
We are responsible for the development and necessary training of rules, procedures, programs, and specific policy that support the health and safety of our employees.
We are responsible to ensure our employees understand the hazards to which they may be exposed and how to prevent harm to themselves and others.
We are responsible to provide appropriate personal protective equipment, and training for each and every Aevenia employee working in areas where hazards can not be eliminated. These measures are taken to ensure a safe working environment.
Our Presidents, Vice Presidents, General Managers, Managers, and Supervisors are responsible for compliance within the framework of company policy and our health and safety program.
As a condition of employment, our employees must comply fully with the Aevenia Safety and Health Policy and actively participate in safety program development, safety training programs, continuous plan improvement, and must take personal responsibility to work safe.
Risk Management
Aevenia, Inc. maintains a comprehensive corporate safety and health program that targets zero accidents and injuries as our corporate goal. Everyone, from management to craft technician, is committed to a proactive approach to safety. Being proactive begins with behavior-based safety. This is an approach to injury prevention focusing on human at-risk behaviors that can lead to an injury, or unsafe behaviors that can contribute to an unsafe working environment. In other words, behavior-based safety is an injury prevention process.
For each employee, this safety-training program begins with a thorough understanding of corporate safety policies, and continues with ten-hour OSHA Safety training and weekly job site safety programs and newsletters. Employees are responsible for participating in safety program development and implementation.
At Aevenia the message is clear: any accident or injury is unacceptable. To admit anything less would send the message that accidents are going to happen and are therefore inevitable. We expect every Aevenia employee to recognize that he or she has a moral obligation to obtain our zero accident goals.
The rewards of this comprehensive program have been outstanding, with our workers’ compensation experience modification rates well below national averages. Managing our risks to provide a safe environment for everyone is the most important job we do.
